History
MLIM is comprised of experts specializing in different sectors of structural and material evaluation. MLIM is committed to providing the highest technical expertise to each and every project. At MLIM, we utilize the most advanced field and laboratory testing methods to determine the underlying cause of the problems and provide solutions and answers that are proven, practical, and cost-effective. Additionally, we will provide a rapid response to a failure to assist with the investigation of the negligence or total collapse of a structure to determine the cause or combination of reasons resulting in the failure.
Our practice incorporates data analytics to ensure that all aspects of the project are looked at and related results support the conclusions that are drawn. The team utilizes sophisticated algorithms to analyze the data set of any size, extracting pertinent information and linking outlying information to conclude. The system allows us to also analyze data from third party sources, such as weather data, temperature, traffic, etc. and use the findings to support the conclusions further.
We are an expert team with over a hundred and fifty years of experience in failure and forensic investigation. Each expert has an area of expertise that allows MLIM to provide a complete range of services. The MLIM team of professionals has testified as expert witnesses in both low and high-stake cases in the United States.

material expert
Dr. David Gress
Dr. Gress has a PhD degree from Purdue University in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Materials. His professional carrier has been based on concrete durability. He conducts experimental and analytical research on topics related to transportation materials, including the reuse of waste materials produced as byproducts of industry and when renewing the civil infrastructure. He has been involved with more than $14,000,000 in projects funded from a variety of federal agencies. These research projects have included laboratory studies, full scale field experiments and demonstrations. Dr. Gress has published in referred journals (ASTM, ACI, TRB, MRS, ASCE) and various conference proceedings. He is also the Associate Director of the RMRC, and a licensed professional engineer in New Hampshire.
Dr. David Gress is a materials engineer with special interests in the durability of concrete airport pavements. His services include field and laboratory evaluation of distressed pavements. A unique service offered is determining the remaining ASR potential of existing concrete as well as evaluating existing distress due to the application of deicing salts. He has evaluated and made recommendations for concrete on various military as well as civilian airports throughout the country.
